Dreaming Bigger Dreams R.H. Myers residents Helene Weinberger and Beatrice Nechin (sitting, from left) recently posed with WCPN 90.3’s Sound of Ideas producer Amy Wasserstrom Cummings and on-air host Michael K. Mcintyre during a special show about dreams and wishes. Helene and Beatrice both had wishes granted by the Menorah Park D.R.E.A.M. Team. Helene published her first book, Ageless Journey: Walk Beside Me, Hold My Hand, and it is her dream to have a second book published. Beatrice’s dream came true in part, live on-air, during the show with the help of Amy and Michael. Beatrice dreams to once again have her own radio show, as she did for 30 years, called Young at Heart. During the women’s on-air appearance, the host turned the mic over to Beatrice, introducing her as hostess of her own Young at Heart show. Beatrice then interviewed Helene, providing listeners with a sampling of the monthly program she hopes to produce from the R.H. Myers Apartments, which will likely be a web stream. Beatrice wishes to cover issues concerning seniors and their families. Hundreds of amazing dreams have been granted on the Menorah Park Campus since the inception of The D.R.E.A.M. Team, which is funded by the generosity of donors. If you would like to contribute, email the Menorah Park Foundation Director Joel Fox at jfox@menorahpark.org. Congrats Beachwood Buzz! On Thursday, July 16, the Beachwood Buzz softball team won their championship game on the Beachwood/O.C.E.R Minor Girls Softball League, run by Beachwood Recreation. Coach Bill Preisler said, “The girls had an amazing year, finishing undefeated for the second year in a row.” Asst. coach David Clar put it best when he said, “Every week this team becomes more of a team. They are learning more about softball and how to have fun. That’s what this game is about, having fun.” Unfortunately, six of the team’s players were unable to be at the championship game, but the girls who were there played a great game and brought home the win for everyone!
