WELCOME RNC
RNC presence is being seen around
Beachwood. Beachwood will host over 1,500
people including delegates, media and support personnel from around
the Country. Our nine hotels will host delegates from New Jersey, Kansas
City, Massachusettes, American Samoa and Iowa.
The Beachwood Convention and Visitor Bureau (CVB) has
a new Visitors Guide listing restaurants, shopping and local
services. Welcome to Beachwood buttons tout a red, white,
and blue theme and will be available at Beachwood City Hall
and the CVB. If you see visitors looking for a place to eat,
shop or play, reach out to welcome them to Beachwood.
All Beachwood businesses, services and restaurants are
highlighted in a new pocket guide that will be placed in each hotel room. We hope all who visit
and stay with us take home exceptional experiences while visiting Beachwood. Look for our
welcome banners and flags throughout the City.
NO SOLICITING PLEASE
It is legal to door-to-door solicit in Beachwood, provided the solicitor has a license obtained by
the Beachwood Police Department. Solicitation hours are: Monday ­ Thursday, 9 AM ­ 9 PM;
Friday, 9 AM ­ 5 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM ­ 4 PM.
Any person who solicits for an organization which is not for profit, which has a charitable
purpose or which is a nonprofit educational institution or public school is permitted to solicit
without a permit.
According to city ordinance, solicitors with or without a valid license shall immediately and
peaceably depart from residential and business premises when a "No Soliciting" sign is posted
on or within 12 inches of the front door. This notice must be in English, with letters at least two
inches in height. No Soliciting decals are available at the Beachwood Police Department and
City Hall reception desk, Monday ­ Friday between 8 AM ­ 4:30 PM.
TRAFFIC SAFETY REMINDER
The Beachwood Police Department wishes everyone a safe summer and
reminds all drivers of the following traffic laws:
HEADLIGHTS:
Every vehicle shall display lighted
headlights while being operated on a street or
highway when the windshield wipers are in use.
CELL PHONE AND ELECTRONIC WIRELESS
DEVICES:
No person is permitted to use an
electronic wireless communications device in any
manner while driving a motor vehicle in the City,
including composing, sending or receiving text messages and using an
electronic wireless communications device to dial, answer, talk, or listen;
unless using a voice operated hands free device.
BE SEEN
We strongly recommend reflective gear to be worn
by ALL PEDESTRIANS when walking or running
before dawn and after dusk. Safety is our number
one concern. Please be cautious.
BE A GOOD DOG OWNER
Beachwood Police reminds you to please keep your
dog on a leash and clean up after it. City ordinances state:

No person shall permit a dog to run at large anywhere within the city,
except upon the owner's property.
·
No person shall keep any dog which by barking,
biting, howling or in any way or disturbs the
quiet of any other person or damages any other
person's property.
