Hedy and Michael Milgrom Honored at B'nai Jeshurun Tribute Dinner
n June 28, B'nai Jeshurun hosted its 2015 Tribute Dinner, recognizing Hedy and Michael Milgrom for their leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy. To further honor the Milgroms, Mayor Merle S. Gorden and City Council proclaimed the day as “Hedy and Michael Milgrom Day” in the city of Beachwood. Hedy, on the staff of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland since 1998, currently serves as chief development officer, and sits on Cleveland’s Advisory Board of the Foundation Center. Hedy is a past president of the board of Cleveland Hillel Foundation; former board member of Camp Ramah, Canada; served on national committees for the Jewish Federations of North America, and was on the Northeast Ohio Advisory Committee of the Ohio Grantmakers Forum. Michael was a staff attorney in the Cleveland office of the Federal Trade Commission until his retirement at the end of 2014. Synagogue life has been a part of Michael’s life since his bar mitzvah, reading and teaching Torah reading at Beth El, Minneapolis, and at Beth Am and B’nai Jeshurun, in Cleveland. Michael also served on the board of the Siegal College of Judaic Studies and was chairman of the Akiva Advisory Committee. Hedy is a past officer and a newly elected trustee of B’nai Jeshurun, and both Hedy and Michael served on the boards of Beth Am and B’nai Jeshurun. They are the parents of Natan (Kate), Ari and Ben, and the very proud grandparents of Ellie. “It was with gratitude and pride that we honored Hedy and Michael Milgrom for their years of leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy,” said Kim Cole, development director. “Both were leaders at Beth Am, and then jumped in with both feet when our congregations merged. It is such a gift to have not one, but two members of our congregation that so generously give of their time, treasure and talent in all aspects of our shul.”
