T he Milestones 13th Annual Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Conference was a huge success with 900 attendees from 10 states, more than 120 speakers, 90 workshops, and 40 exhibitors at the Cleveland I-X Center. Presented by Cleveland-based Milestones Autism Resources (milestones.org), this inspirational event brought together family members, educators, therapists, medical professionals, and self-advocates (individuals with autism) to share evidence-based practical strategies and best practices to help members of the autism community reach their potential and the greatest level of independence. Attendees were revitalized by a variety of influences, including workshops spanning all ages and ability levels, as well as professional development opportunities for eight disciplines. Family members and professionals enjoyed the Conference, many coming back to hear about the latest information, research, and resources, and meet up with colleagues and peers. A large number of new attendees found resources, guidance, and practical strategies to support their family members and clients.
